Before accepting the call to Nazarene, Rev. Ross was blessed to study and serve within the pastoral ranks of two leading congregations also known for their deep spiritual roots and strong public witness. For two years, she served as Intern Minister for Pastoral Care and Advocacy at the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, NY and four years as Senior Community Minister for Social Justice at Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village, NY.
Rev. Ross earned a Master of Divinity degree in Systematic Theology with a concentration in Liberation Theology from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York (UTS). Seeing her call to pastoral ministry as being inextricably tied to building a bridge between the church, the academy and society.
Rev. Ross continued her graduate studies at UTS, receiving a Master of Sacred Theology degree with a concentration in Social Ethics; the theological discipline that addresses social justice problems head-on as opposed to being confined to systematic assessments of theology alone.
Rev. Ross is currently a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Hartford Seminary, with a focus in Church Renewal and Church Growth through the lens of Religion as a Social Phenomenon: the Sociological Study of Religion.
Rev. Ross moves by the mantra, “Anyone with a platform has a responsibility to lift up the issues affecting our society in the public square”.
Rev. Ross is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and The Society of Christian Ethics
